I realized that there are a bunch of people in the world who are surrounded by others, but feel lonely, and want a best friend to talk to who will always be there. Those people stay feeling lonely because they have not taken the initiative themselves to step outside of their comfort zones and make new friends who could, by fate, become their best friend.

I get that you’re trying to be nice and save the trouble, but for the rest of the time you’re with them, you’re basically just lying to them and playing them. Just end it and forget about it the minute your feelings are completely gone. It’s not hard if you don’t care about that person anymore.
